It's reported that the major construction steel producers in Korea including Hyundai Steel and Dongkuk Steel are mulling to ask government to initiate antidumping (AD) investigation on H-beam imports from China.

The two major steelmakers' total H-beam output is estimated at around 150,000~160,000 tons in March.

However, the country's H-beam imports totaled 119,000 tons in February. Among them, 113,000 tons were from China.

A source at Dongkuk Steel said that the company is considering seeking an AD investigation on the Chinese H-beam imports as the massive quantities of the Chinese H-beams are threatening the local industry seriously.
